Posted by: admin  :  Category: HD TV

In 1997 Alviso introduced the concept known as TiVo in California. This was a breakthrough in the movie and television industry and many of us will never go back to watching them without it. TiVo features a digital video recorder (DVR) that is accessed through a telephone line and a TV antenna. It is now offered by major satellite cable companies including Direct TV and Dish Network.

The Direct TV HD TiVo System includes several components of a computer. There is a hard disk drive that allows you to record up to 900 hours of TV and movies. The connector allows the information to be transferred through the system and then played when you are ready to view it. You can control of this with the Direct TV HD TiVo remote control. This allows you to watch TV and movies and record other programming at the same time. You can watch it when it fits into your schedule. Viewers love the convenience as well as the fact that the recorded data is just as clear as the original.

The Direct TV HD TiVo system offers some amazing features for you to take advantage of. You can skip commercials on live TV which is something we can all find pleasing. There is a 30 second skip option and the TiVo To Go system that allows you to transfer recorded material to your computer.

There are several good Direct TV HD TiVo options for you to choose from. The R10 can record up to 70 hours of material for about $99. If you want the upgraded version that can record twice as much it will run $199. The ultimate product they offer is the Direct TV R10 with 500 GB of disk space and the capacity for 900 hours of material. It comes with a heft price tag though of $1,099.

Direct TV has been in business since 1994. For the past several years they have been the industry leader for satellite cable services. They continue add new products for their customers to take advantage of. In addition they offer plenty of channels and a low monthly cost for their packages.

TV Lift Technology

We love our TV’s. We have loved them since they were first introduced in the 1950′s when the only available picture option was black-and white.

Things have changed a great deal since the early days of TV, but not our love for it. Entire rooms are now built around the TV-viewing experience. Many people have moved away from the traditional TV console and entertainment center. Just as TV design has become more streamlined, so has the furniture that houses our TVs.

Sleek TV stands are now manufactured in various sizes and shapes, offering everything from adjustable shelves to removable back panels to access the TV’s rear wiring unit.

Another option, offering greater space efficiency and safety than a TV stand, is a mounted TV. TV mounts are ideal for active families, because the TV itself remains “out of reach” for the toddlers and four-legged family members, which means there is little chance of the TV – or your loved ones, being hurt. In 2006, 10 children died as a result of a television falling on them.

Mounted TV units are also wonderful space savers. Since they no longer require floor space (usually the TVs are mounted to a wall or to the ceiling) the room in which you gather to watch TV together just got bigger! TV mounts are idyllic for kitchens and bathrooms, where counter space is at a premium!

Perhaps the ultimate in TV furniture upgrades is a TV lift cabinet or console. TV lifts use state-of-the art technology to “manage” your TV and all of its accouterments (like the cable box, the DVD player, TiVo, etc.)

Available in various operating methods (rack and pinion or telescopic design), TV lifts allow you to “lift” your TV to a specific viewing height using Infrared technology, with the simple push of a button. When TV time is over, another button push lowers the TV back into its cabinet or console for “safe keeping” until you want to watch again.

TV lift cabinets and consoles can be created to match your room’s decor, too. Be sure to research manufacturers who specifically offer TV cabinet/console customization, including wood tones and design motifs, for a seamless addition to your home.
